Terms of Service

Last updated October 1, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Government Radar (“Government Radar”, “we”, “us”), operated by Cole Kander in Edmonton, Alberta. They apply to govradar.ca, your account and the email digests we send (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you are signing up on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms for it.

1. The Service

Government Radar collects news releases and similar announcements published by the Government of Canada and provincial governments, organizes them by topic and jurisdiction, and delivers them to you by email and through your dashboard according to your preferences. We may add, change or remove features, sources or coverage over time.

2. Your account

You must be at least 18 and give us accurate information. Keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Each subscription is for one person unless we agree otherwise in writing (for example, a team plan). Please don’t share your login or forward digests in bulk outside your organization.

3. Free trial

New accounts get a 14-day free trial. No payment method is required to start it. When the trial ends, digests stop unless you choose a paid plan.

4. Subscriptions, billing and renewal

  • Paid plans are billed in advance in Canadian dollars, monthly or annually, through our payment processor, Stripe. Prices are shown on our website and at checkout, plus any applicable taxes.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method for each renewal.
  • We may change prices for future billing periods. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email before a price change applies to your subscription, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
  • If a payment fails, we may suspend digests until the payment is resolved.

5. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time from the billing page in your dashboard or by emailing info@govradar.ca. Cancellation stops future renewals. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods. If something has gone wrong, email us and we will do our best to make it right.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • resell, redistribute or republish the Service or your digests as a competing product or feed;
  • scrape, crawl or bulk-download the Service, except for the public pages search engines index in the normal way;
  • interfere with the Service’s security or operation, or try to access other users’ accounts or data;
  • use the Service for anything unlawful.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

7. Content and sources

Government news releases belong to the governments that publish them, and each item in the Service links to the official source. Topic tags, filters and priority flags are our own organization of that public information, are produced in part by automated tools (including AI), and can be incomplete or wrong. The official government source is always the authoritative version. The Government Radar name, design and software are ours.

8. No professional advice

The Service and our guides are for general information. They are not legal, regulatory, lobbying-compliance or other professional advice. Check official sources and get qualified advice before acting.

9. Availability and disclaimers

We work hard to deliver every digest on time and to capture every release, but we depend on government websites and feeds that can change, break or go offline without notice. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or complete, or that any particular release will be captured or delivered at a particular time.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Government Radar will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including any missed or late release. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Ending these terms

You can stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may end or suspend the Service or your account if you breach these terms, or if we discontinue the Service, in which case we will give reasonable notice where we can and refund any prepaid fees for the unused portion of a period if we discontinue the Service entirely.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will post the new version here with a new date and notify account holders by email at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after that, the new terms apply.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be heard in the courts of Alberta, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.
